Krakatau Steel earns big income from CDM (ECO.L)

The steel industry in Indonesia like PT Krakatau Steel, Cilegon, Banten province, had a chance for a big income from carbon trade by the clean development mechanism (CDM).

"We have signed an emission reduction purchase agreement (ERPA) project fund with PT Krakatau Steel," Director of EcoSecurities Indonesia, Agus Sari, said in Nusa Dua, Bali, Wednesday.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of the signing of an emission reduction purchase agreement (ERPA) with PT Bajradaya Sentranusa, during the UN Conference on Climate Change (UNFCCC) taking place in Nusa Dua, December 3 to 14, 2007.

In the company of Tara F Khaira, senior manager of EcoSecurities, said that the iron and steel sector is known as a major use of energy and also a major producer of carbon emissions....MORE
