IT Billionaire Leo KoGuan, who once claimed to be one of the largest individual shareholders in Tesla, on Wednesday said he'd purchased 1 million shares in artificial intelligence chipmaker Nvidia and plans to buy more as he doubles down on his support of AI.

KoGuan, who is ranked by Forbes as among the 400 richest people in the world, posted about his purchase to X and said it’s proof of his belief that “AI is NOT a bubble, it is only the beginning.”

Nvidia, which last year became the first publicly traded firm ever to surpass a $5 trillion valuation, closed at $180.05 per share on Tuesday, meaning KoGuan would have paid $180.05 million for his stake.

KoGuan once claimed to be the third largest individual shareholder in Elon Musk’s Tesla with more than 200 million [incorrect, was ~27mm] shares, but in 2024 he said he’d begun reducing his Tesla holdings and was diversifying his portfolio with 3-month treasury bills.

He hasn’t said exactly how much he still has in either investment, but on Wednesday said they still make up “most” of his holdings, calling Tesla “embodied physical AI.”....
