Figure raises over $1B in Series C funding as AI fuels more robotics interest
Figure AI, a startup developing humanoid robots, has raised more than $1 billion in a Series C, giving it a valuation of $39 billion.
VC investment in robotics has surged recently as AI has driven interest in fueling the burgeoning ecosystem. Quarter-over-quarter deal value exploded in Q2, with a 170.5% increase to $8.8 billion generated across 221 deals, according to PitchBook research. Deal value is on track to surpass last year’s total of $12.5 billion, having already reached $12.1 billion.
Parkway Venture Capital led the round, with additional participation from Intel Capital, Nvidia, Macquarie Capital, Qualcomm Ventures and others.
Just in February, Figure raised a $675 million Series B, valuing the company at $2.6 billion. Now at $39 billion, Figure is more valuable than Fortnite maker Epic Games, making it the world’s 13th most valuable VC-backed company....
