Entire Hungarian Village Of Megyer Goes On The Rental Market

The tiny village of Megyer in western Hungary has posted an unusual advertisement online: for HUF 210 000 a day, you can rent four streets, twelve houses and a dozen animals and even become vice-mayors.

The price to rent the entire village (with the exception of inhabited buildings and farm structures) is HUF 210 000 a night, which includes 2 solid and 2 gravel roads, 1 bus stop, 1 office, 7 guest houses, 7 event halls, 1 barn, 3 miscellaneous buildings, 1 poultry yard, 6 horses, 2 cows, 3 sheep and 4 hectares of field.

The surprising idea was cooked up by the municipal authority which manages a social cooperative that runs the guest houses, Megyer mayor Kristóf Pajer told Szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu.
