St Paul's Cathedral was today forced
to close its doors for the first time in living memory as church
authorities feared protesters camping outside were a 'fire hazard'.
The Dean of the Cathedral Right
Reverend Graeme Knowles asked anti-capitalist activists to 'withdraw peacefully' and said the decision was made with a 'heavy heart.'
It
comes as the number of tents at the site has increased to more than 200
from 120 since Monday, with many mothers and babies joining the protest
too.
Disruption: Anti-capitalists continue to camp
outside St Paul's this evening despite the cathedral announcing it will
have to close for the first time in 72 years due to the protest
