Nice quarter for Cree Research (CREE), the LED lighting specialist.

For the fiscal fourth quarter ended June 28, the company posted revenue of $148.1 million and non-GAAP profits of 18 cents a share. The Street had been expecting $146.5 million and 17 cents....MORE

JASO, SOL, LDK Reports Make Tomorrow Key For Solars

Tomorrow, the solar sector will receive a flurry of earnings reports, with June quarter results due before the open from JA Solar (JASO) and ReneSola (SOL), and LDK Solar (LDK) expected to report after the closing bell. All three stocks are trading modestly lower on Tuesday.

Barclays Capital analyst Vishal Shah writes in a research note today that he maintains his cautious stance on the sector heading into tomorrow’s reports. He contends that expectations are high, and that there is downside risk to shipment and margin guidance for some Chinese solar players....MORE
