Canadian Solar posts surprise Q2 profit; shares soar pre-market (CSIQ)

I must confess little interest in this name. That said, the numbers are good and the stock was recently up $2.38 (14.76%). From Reuters:

Aug 6 (Reuters) - Canadian Solar Inc (CSIQ.O) reported a surprise second-quarter profit, on strong sales in all its markets, and the company raised its full-year shipment outlook, sending its shares up more than 20 percent in pre-market trade.

"Our second quarter revenue came in well ahead of expectations as we benefitted from robust customer orders around the world," Chief Executive Shawn Qu said, adding that the company further reduced its higher priced inventory in the quarter.

Canadian Solar now expects shipments between 260 megawatt (MW) and 270 MW for the full year, up from its prior view of 200 MW to 220 MW....MORE
