Ag Commodities: USDA Crop Progress Report—Unchanged Week-on-Week

U.S. corn and soybean condition ratings unchanged, USDA reports
More soybean plants are dropping leaves than average.

U.S. corn and soybean crop conditions are unchanged.
Overall, progress for both crops remains the same vs. a week ago, according to the USDA Crop Progress Report.

CORN
As of Sunday, 91% of the U.S. corn crop is in the dough stage vs. 89% five-year average.
Also, 59% of the nation’s corn is in the dent growth stage vs. a 55% five-year average.
The USDA pegged 9% of the crop as mature vs. a 10% five-year average.
On Monday, the U.S. corn condition rating was marked at 60% good/excellent vs. 60% a week ago.

SOYBEANS
As of Sunday, the USDA rated the nation’s soybean crop as 9% dropping leaves vs. a 7% five-year average.
The USDA noted that 93% of the soybeans are in the setting pods stage vs. a 92% five-year average.
For soybeans, 56% is rated good/excellent, above 56% a week ago.[sic]....
