As we sweltered in last week’s heat wave when seven all-time temperature highs were set in the Fraser Valley, weather records were big news all around the world.

South America is having one of its coldest ever winters this year with lots of heavy snow in the Andes.Seasonal rains reached record levels in parts of the Sudan where 15,000 homes were destroyed, scores of people died and thousands are at risk from water-borne diseases
