The heat is on in Canada’s north

As we sweltered in last week’s heat wave when seven all-time temperature highs were set in the Fraser Valley, weather records were big news all around the world.

Snow fell in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the capital city’s first major snowfall since 1918 and the first time that any snow has fallen since 1973. South America is having one of its coldest ever winters this year with lots of heavy snow in the Andes.

Seasonal rains reached record levels in parts of the Sudan where 15,000 homes were destroyed, scores of people died and thousands are at risk from water-borne diseases

There's your wacky world weather weport.
