We believe hurricanes are getting worse, so we moved to Palm Beach.
We think catastrophic sea-level rise is an existential threat, so we moved to Palm Beach.
Science tells us that the world is warming dangerously, so we moved to a warmer climate. https://t.co/pOktg9YRWu
I have an earworm.
In Saturday's post "The Dissolution of the Soviet Union and the Culture That Is Finland" I intro'd with:
....the breakup of the USSR in 1991, which event sparked a few years of hope that the time of geopolitical craziness was over.
It wasn't, but one of the manifestation's of said hope was the collaboration of Finland's Leningrad Cowboys with the Alexandrov Ensemble, formerly known as the Soviet Red Army Choir (A. V. Alexandrov Twice Red-bannered and Red-starred Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Soviet Army)....
And had a video of a cover of the Cowboys and the former Soviets playing "Happy Together."
Here's another cover about which a commenter wrote:
A band called Leningrad Cowboys that was solely formed to make fun of both US and Russian culture in one go got the Russian Red Army Choir to do backing vocals to Rockin in the Free World by Neil Young. They must be the best trolls who ever lived...
It's a very good cover. Of a very good song.
And Neil Young, after loudly leaving Spotify over comments by a guest, Dr. Robert Malone, on Joe Rogan's podcast, and then a comment by Rogan himself, has quietly returned to the streamer.
