Back to the Future: Uber to Take Cash Payments In Singapore

Isn't that going against the laws of payment progress?
In an age where businesses are introducing cashless payments, Uber Singapore has just done the opposite - introduce cash.

They haven’t gone mad, don’t worry. Regular Uber users will probably not go back to using cash, relying on the usual card payments, but it’s a nice option to have if you’re tired of freaking out at your credit card bill.

But not everyone has one and that’s why Uber is doing it. They want to remove this plastic obstacle for new riders who’d prefer to use cash for transactions.

It’s not a new Uber feature either; the cash payment option is also available in other cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Manila in the Philippines; Johor Bahru, Ipoh and Penang in Malaysia, Bali, Bandung, Surabaya and Jakarta in Indonesia; and Bangkok in Thailand.
