Solarworld AG, Germany's third- largest solar company, led solar stocks higher in Frankfurt trading on speculation General Electric Co. will make a bid.Solarworld rose 2.80 euros, or 10 percent, to close at 30.43 euros, the biggest one-day gain since May 30. Conergy AG, Germany's second-largest solar company, jumped 13 percent, while Phoenix Solar AG added 8 percent.
``There's a rumor that GE wants to bid for Solarworld,'' said Burkhard Weiss, an analyst at HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG in Dusseldorf who has an ``overweight'' rating on the stock. ``I don't think there's anything to it.''>>>MORE
