As noted yesterday, "The Decision To Allow U.S.-Made Munitions To Bomb Russia Sure Got Moscow's Attention". The article we linked was one of the saner examples. Here's another one, via Pravda.com (there's also Pravda.ru, it gets complicated):
The expert suggested a possible answer to the permission to strike deep into Russia
MOSCOW, Nov 18 - RIA Novosti. Russia should consider the possibility of launching a demonstration single nuclear strike in the waters near the coast of Great Britain and France after allowing Kiev to strike long-range missiles at the territory of the Russian Federation, Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the New York Times newspaper, citing unnamed representatives of the American administration, reported that US President Joe Biden for the first time authorized the use of American long-range missiles by Ukraine for strikes on Russian territory. According to the New York Times, Biden's move is related to information about the alleged presence of North Korean forces in the Kursk region. Later, Figaro reported that France and the United Kingdom also allowed Ukraine to strike at the territory of the Russian Federation using their long-range weapons.
"If, in addition to the White House's permission for Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles for attacks deep into Russian territory, Biden also agreed on similar actions by the United Kingdom and France to use the transferred British and French Storm Shadow and SCALP-EG cruise missiles, this already makes the situation explosive," Korotchenko said.
According to him, in this case, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to launch massive strikes with cruise missiles of British, French and American production on the territory of the Russian Federation.
"In this situation, the question may arise about a demonstration nuclear strike in the marine area near the coast of Great Britain and France in order to demonstrate Russia's determination in case of failure to take measures to curb such actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Korotchenko said.
Russia has previously drawn attention to the fact that the United States has no evidence that military personnel from the DPRK are allegedly present at its base. And North Korea called accusations against Pyongyang of sending military personnel to Russia "dirty maneuvers" by the United States and its allies to mask their own crimes and prolong the conflict in Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously stated that NATO countries are now discussing not just the possible use of Western long-range weapons by Kiev, in fact they are deciding whether to get directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict. The direct participation of Western countries in the Ukrainian conflict will change its essence, Russia will be forced to make decisions based on the threats thus created for it, he added. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian leader, noted that the president's statement on the consequences of Western weapons strikes deep into Russia was extremely clear and unambiguous, there is no doubt that it reached the addressees.
