Peugeot, Jeep, Dodge, Maserati-Maker Stellantis Earning Big Money (STLA)

Also Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler and a bunch of other marques.

They appear to be generating serious efficiencies from the 2021 merger. and additionally, sold 288,000 electric vehicles for the full year.

Stellantis Earnings Top GM, Ford, and Even Tesla. The Stock Is Rising.

Stellantis finished up 2022 stronger than expected. By some measures, the company had a better year than even Tesla . Stellantis stock climbed in early Wednesday trading.

Stellantis (ticker: STLA) reported earnings per share of €2.60 ($2.78) for the second half of 2022 from $97.9 billion in sales. Wall Street was looking for $2.67 a share from $94 billion in sales.

Netherlands-based Stellantis reports half-year results, like many other European companies. For the full year, Stellantis generated about $24.4 billion in operating profit, up from about $19 billion generated in 2021, it said Wednesday. Operating profit margins came in at 13%, up about 1 percentage point compared with 2021.

Those are impressive numbers. Ford Motor (F) generated $10.4 billion in 2022 operating profit for a margin of 6.6%. Margins fell almost 1 percentage point year over year. General Motors (GM) generated $14.3 billion in operating profit in 2022 for a margin of 11.3%. GM’s profit and profit margin rose year over year compared with 2021.

For 2022, Tesla (TSLA) generated a better operating profit margin than Stellantis, coming in at 16.7%, but Stellantis generated more total operating profit. Tesla ‘s full year operating profit came in at $13.6 billion.

Tesla, of course, still sells far less cars than Stellantis. It delivered about 1.3 million cars in 2022. Stellantis delivered about 5.8 million vehicles....
