Atlanta Fed Forecasts 0.50% GDP Growth For The Current Quarter

Keeping in mind that Atlanta's GDPNow runs hot and tends to decrease as we approach the report date, in this case, BEA: Gross Domestic Product, 1st Quarter 2022 (Advance Estimate) April 28, 08:30 AM 

When the New York Fed was issuing their NowCast it would tend to run cooler than the eventually reported number and you could use the two forecasts to bracket the final number with accuracy to within tenths of a percent but the NowCast was suspended due to "The uncertainty around the pandemic and the consequent volatility in the data....", with no word on when or if it will return.

Anyhoo, here's the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's most recent GDPNow:

....Latest estimate: 0.5 percent — March 8, 2022

The GDPNow model estimate for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the first quarter of 2022 is 0.5 percent on March 8, up from 0.0 percent on March 1. After this morning’s international trade release from the US Census Bureau and the US Bureau of Economic Analysis, the nowcast of first-quarter real personal consumption expenditures growth increased from 2.3 percent to 3.4 percent, while the nowcast of the contribution of net exports to first-quarter real GDP growth decreased from -0.94 percentage points to -1.00 percentage points.
