It’s not a good day for Tesla (TSLA)—or stocks in general—but if electric cars are losing their luster, what about driverless cars?
As Reuters’ Paul Leinert and Joe White report, Google (GOOGL) has begun negotiations with automakers as it seeks to introduce self-driving cars by the end of the decade.
Reuters noted yesterday that General Motors (GM) was open to working with Google to develop driverless vehicles, but Chris Urmson, director of Google’s self-driving car project, today said that the firm is holding discussions with a number of industry giants, including Ford (F), Toyota Motor Corp. (TM), Daimler and Volkswagen, along with GM:
