"LDK Q1 Beats Street; Restates Q4; Offers Strong 2010 Outlook" (LDK)

Afterhours the stock is up 6.2% at $7.39 (on top of a 12.6% move in regular trade).

LDK Solar (LDK) this afternoon posted Q1 revenue of $347.6 million and profits of 6 cents a share, ahead of the Street at $325.9 million and a penny a share. Gross margin was 15.7%, up from 9.9% in Q4 and 1.7% a year ago. Guidance had been for revenue of $310 million to $330 million.

The company shipped 426.7 MW of wafers in the quarter and 31.3 MW of modules; guidance had been for 370-400 MW of wafers and 25-30 MW of modules.

For Q2, the company sees revenue of $460 million to $490 million, with wafer shipments of 460-480 MW, and module shipments of 60 MW-70 MW. The Street has been expecting $382.3 million in revenue.

For 2010, the company sees revenue of $1.6 billion to $1.7 billion, with wafer shipments of 1.7-1.8 GW, and module shipments of 200-300 MW. The Street consensus has been for $1.39 billion in revenue for the year....MORE
