Knut Signs $5 Mil. Hollywood Deal: Series, Idol in the Wings?

Hollywood beckons for Knut, the polar bear cub who shot to fame in 2007. He is to star in an animated Hollywood movie by the maker of the Garfield films in a deal that could net Berlin Zoo €3.5 million.

It was only a matter of time before Tinseltown came knocking. Cute Knut is about to star in an animated film that should earn Berlin Zoo millions of euros and establish the shaggy polar bear cub as an A-list celebrity alongside Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.

The zoo has confirmed local media reports that it is in talks with a Hollywood producer. "We are delighted about the interest from Hollywood. It's unclear when we will sign the contracts.
