Johnson and Johnson heiress’ horse farm is relisted with huge price cut
The former home of Elizabeth “Libet” Johnson is back on the market with a massive price cut. Lightning Tree Farm in Millbrook, N.Y., is a 372-acre equestrian estate with a Greek Revival mansion near the Connecticut border. It’s available for $9.95 million.
Initially listed in 2016 for $28.5 million, it had nearly double the acreage of the current offering—which partly accounts for the massive 65% price cut.
Johnson, great-granddaughter of the co-founder of Johnson & Johnson, purchased the mansion in the early 1980s and then bought up a number of adjacent parcels, which make up the current offering.A few years ago, she decided to sell the place, as her children all had homes elsewhere and no longer spend time in the area, a family spokesperson told the Wall Street Journal in 2016. Johnson died of Alzheimer’s disease in 2017. She was 66.
In addition to the 18,000-square-foot main residence, the property comes with a heliport, 18-stall barn, outdoor riding ring, three-bedroom guesthouse, and separate garage with a staff apartment........MUCH MORE
Seems priced to sell.
