Alphaville's Izabella Kaminska Has Apparently Staged A Coup And Taken Control Of the FT's Video Ops (plus, tech people may not be as smart as they think they are)

As we've pointed out over the years, the tactics from Luttwak's Coup d'État: A Practical Handbook, begin with seizing the means of communication.

Two from FT Alphaville:

Digesting Trump at the Web Summit
At this week’s Web Summit in Lisbon, the plan was to do a video report about the scale of group think in the tech industry....MORE

And: "A tech lobbyist discusses President Trump".

With Bradley Tusk, one of Uber's big-league political hires via his Tusk Ventures consultancy.
The other big being Obama's campaign architect David Plouffe, first as Uber SVP of Policy and Strategy, currently full-time senior strategic adviser.

The point of the headline slam is two-fold.
Firstly, the algos got fooled and were pretty much worthless in handicapping the election.
Secondly, for folks who profess to live and breathe disruption they sure react poorly to real disruption.
Both of these points I learned from the video, four minutes well spent.

I may be a bit harsh on the techies reactions and am probably influenced by the, at least on the surface, vacuousness of our two immediately preceding posts:
