Now that I have your attention I'd like to point out a headline writer at Business Insider who actually knows a Latin root when he/she sees one (no implication the writer is a he-she, not that there's anything wrong with that):

Which headline was originally,per the URL, http://www.businessinsider.com/fleeing-investors-are-decimating-brazilian-equities-after-the-election-2014-10

"...energy giant Petroleo Brasileiro was down 10.78%."
"the Lyxor ETF Brazil...was down 9.42%."

The deci being 1/10, it's close enough for me.

I will probably never again be able to see the word "flee" without thinking of those polygamous lesbians from our December 2008 post "Just Once I'd Like to See This Headline in the Wall Street Journal" which began normally enough:
