A Manhattan man convinced his mom not to sell her historic East Village walk-up, where he and his wife live for free, by claiming he would commit suicide — or, worse, become a journalist, his brother says.
Lorcan Otway told his mom that if she sold the two-building St. Marks Place property, he’d run off to cover the Afghanistan war, his brother, Thomas Otway, says in the Manhattan Surrogate’s Court filing.
