Platinum, palladium drop as union takes wage offer to striking S.African miners (PPLT; PALL)

Platinum and palladium fell to session lows on Thursday, after South Africa's producers said they had reached "in principle" undertakings with the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) to end a crippling five-month strike.


Palladium fell as much as 3.6 percent to $825.47 an ounce, well below a 13-1/2 year high of $862.50 hit on Wednesday, when the metal benefited from supply worries and strong demand.
Platinum dropped 2.3 percent to $1,442.20 an ounce.

Anglo American Platinum Ltd, Impala Platinum Holdings and Lonmin Plc said they expected to receive feedback on the wage offer from AMCU on Friday.
