Gazprom’s Boss to Get Tablet Worth Up to $3.7 Million
MOSCOW–Russia’s OAO Gazprom OGZPY +5.18% is splashing out on a tablet computer to help its chief run the company better at a cost of up to $3.7 million.I still miss the former head of Gazprom. From a November 2010 post:
The gas giant has posted a tender notice on its website for a device to enable its chief executive, Alexei Miller, to “take decisions to increase the efficiency of Gazprom Group’s work.”
The tablet should be based on Apple Inc.’s iOS operating system and allow Mr. Miller to work while on the move as if at his desktop, according to the tender announcement. It shouldn’t cost more than 120 million rubles ($3.7 million).
