Prospect List: Metallica manager helps Obama super PAC improve its New York numbers"

Priorities USA, the super PAC supporting President Obama, reported raising $4.8 million in July, with a slight uptick in donations from New York, where the group has previously struggled, thanks to a handful of six-figure donations from an architect, a private-equity executive, a biomedical researcher, and the longtime manager of Metallica.

Billionaire architect Jon Stryker added $750,000 in July to the $750,000 he had already given Priorities this cycle, but most of the big donors were giving to the super PAC for the first time.

Vincent Mai, the chairman and CEO of private equity firm AEA Investors, and two of his relatives gave a combined $200,000, and David E. Shaw, a biomedical researcher, gave $500,000.
