The tweeter, Adam Mortara is a nerd. He received a Bachelor of Science degree (chemistry) from the University of Chicago, a Masters degree (astrophysics) from Magdalene College, Cambridge; dropping out of the doctoral program to return to Chicago's law school for his J.D. He is hard-core conservative and made headlines as a courtroom litigator in the Harvard discrimination-in-admissions case, now before the Supreme Court.
