IoT: Pampers To Join Huggies As "Smart" Diaper Purveyor

Pampers releasing 'smart diapers' for parents to track sleep, diapering, feeding
Pampers has announced a new line of smart diapers that come with an app for parents to track the wetness of their baby's diaper.

CNN reported that Pampers officials said its Lumi by Pampers line has a waitlist ahead of its fall release in the US. The diapers include an activity sensor, baby monitor and 10-day supply of diapers. The sensor works with a smartphone app that logs baby's pee and tracks patterns. Bowel movements are not tracked, but sleep is.

"Parents didn't ask for a poo or pee alarm; they wanted something more like the smartwatches of today," a Pampers spokesperson told CNN. "The activity sensor tracks baby's sleep and since it's there on the diaper, it can also track ... if a diaper is wet."...MORE
