ChatGPT still experiencing 'elevated error rates'

ChatGPT-maker OpenAI acknowledged the service disruptions in a post on X at 10:22 a.m. ET.

"We are observing elevated error rates and latency across ChatGPT and the API," OpenAI wrote in the post.

"Our engineers have identified the root cause and are working as fast as possible to fix the issue."

The tool was still experiencing issues and elevated error rates as of approximately 12:00 p.m. ET, according to OpenAI's status page.

It appears the peak of the ChatGPT outage has passed.

While initial user reports on Downdetector surged to a high of approximately 1,900, the number of reported issues has now notably decreased to around 1,200.

Concurrently, OpenAI has updated its official status page, indicating that the company is "seeing continued recovery" across both its API services and ChatGPT, with further updates promised as progress continues....
