The 1953 book “Mars Project” by famous Nazi rocket scientist Werner Von Braun created a character in his book named “Elon” who lead an expedition to colonise Mars. Errol Musk read this book and named his son after this fictional character.
I think Elon did the Nazi salute on purpose because he’s so deep in the belief that he is this character. The power he has generated by being the richest man in the world, appealing to a mass amount of people and now having strong political leverage allows him to not only get away with this, but to influence the minds of 100s of millions of people around the globe, which he has just started.
I truly believe he thinks of himself as Von Brauns creation come to life.
