Hurricane Florence: Energy

While there is no law of conservation of energy re: hurricane categories, what happened overnight is somewhat comparable.

Despite the downgrade in category. the total energy in the system is actually increasing as Florence crosses the Gulf Stream and sucks up a few bazillion kilojoules.

On the other hand, as we learned in "Dead Cat Bounce: What is the Terminal Velocity of a Cat?" the falling feline will demonstrate the Law of the conservation of angular momentum.
