R=Revised.
The reported revision resulting from resubmissions of data from one or
more respondents caused the stocks for April 13, 2012 to change from
2,512 Bcf to 2,501 Bcf. As a result, the implied net change between the
weeks ending April 6 and April 13 changed from 25 Bcf to 23 Bcf.
Historical working gas levels for the weeks ending March 23, 2012,
March 30, 2012, and April 6, 2012 also were revised to reflect
resubmissions of data. Working gas stocks for the week ending April 6,
2012 were changed from 2,487 Bcf to 2,478 Bcf, which lowered the implied
net change for that period from 8 Bcf to 6 Bcf. Working gas stocks for
the week ending March 30, 2012 were changed from 2,479 Bcf to 2,472
Bcf, which had no impact on the implied net change for that period.
Working gas stocks for the week ending March 23, 2012 were revised from
2,437 Bcf to 2,430 Bcf, which lowered the implied net change for that
period from 57 Bcf to 50 Bcf.

Notes and Definitions
Beginning with the report
period for the week ending March 16, 2012, EIA is including salt dome
and nonsalt-dome subtotals for the Producing Region in the “Summary”
section. The sum of the components may not equal the total for the
Producing Region, because of independent rounding.

Summary
Working gas in storage was 2,548 Bcf as of Friday, April 20, 2012,
according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 47 Bcf from the previous week.
Stocks were 872 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 908 Bcf above
the 5-year average of 1,640 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 450 Bcf above
the 5-year average following net injections of 42 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 350 Bcf above
the 5-year average of 691 Bcf after
a net injection of 1 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region
were 107 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 4 Bcf. At 2,548 Bcf,
total working gas is above the 5-year historical range.
Working gas stocks in the Producing Region, for the week ending
April 20, 2012, totaled 1,041 Bcf, with 254 Bcf in salt cavern
facilities and 787 Bcf in nonsalt cavern facilities. Working gas stocks
decreased 5 Bcf in the salt cavern facilities and increased 5 Bcf in the
nonsalt cavern facilities, since April 13. The reported revision in the
Producing region for April 13, 2012 changed the working gas levels from
1,049 Bcf to 1,040 Bcf with 259 Bcf in salt cavern facilities and 782
Bcf in nonsalt cavern facilities. An historical series of the salt and
nonsalt subtotals of the Producing Region, reflecting all published
revisions and dating back to January 7, 2011, is available for download
