Thomas Edison was the founder of Edison General Electric, precursor to the GE we know today.
From 1878 Edison was backed financially by J.P. Morgan. Edison was into the capitalism thing in a big way.

...Sooo... China is down with protesting, just not in Tiananmen and the guy who just sent GE's medical imaging division to China, the head of the President's Jobs Council, about as close to a crony capitalist as you'd care to get, one of the largest recipients of government assistance in 2008-09, he sympathises?
