Nearly 90% of Barbuda destroyed, official says
Prime Minister Gaston Browne “was one of the first on the ground” after Irma hit Barbuda and that he saw “a lot of destruction, upwards of 90%," according to Charles Fernandez, Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, speaking to broadcaster ABS Television and Radio.
Fernandez also said Antigua will be the “jumping off point” for relief efforts in the area, including the British Virgin Islands.
