Climateer Line of the Day: ICOs as Communicable Disease Edition

I think today's winner should actually have been yesterday's winner but anyway, to the Financial Times' Izabella Kaminska for describing Initial Coin Offerings as a contagion:

The FCA’s belated views on the ICOmedy

Screen-Shot-2017-09-12-at-11.03.45 If you count the DAO as ICO patient zero, it only took them over a year… If you count the ether fundraising as patient zero, it only took them over three years.

This marks her second award of the prestigious Line of the Day, having previously taken home the prize in 2014:
Izabella Kaminska writing for the paper rather than for Alphaville.
From the Financial Times:
"I am on the train from Geneva to Zurich, bound for the annual forecasting dinner of the Swiss Chartered Financial Analyst society..."
Today's recognition was not without contention and perhaps surprisingly, on the same subject.
Our first runner-up was Preston Byrne for the intro to his Sept. 12 post "The UK FCA (Finally) Speaks About ICOs":

Huge disclaimer notice! In red!

I’m an English lawyer, so I want to begin this blog post by saying that I don’t know you, I’m not your lawyer, this blog post is not legal advice, and since structuring ICOs involves navigating more minefields than a British battlecruiser in the Skagerrak during Battle of Jutland, you definitely need to get a qualified lawyer of your own before you do anything ICO-related. Period....
Bonus points for the colour scheme almost put him over the top. So close.
