The Federal Mortgage Database will store and share all of your personal credit info
So far, only the usual Right Wing Media sources (FOX, Catholic News, WND, etc) are making a story of this. Basically, all the info on your credit report will now be stored in a shared, multi-agency federal database, so they can run reports to comply with the 2008 financial laws/acts put in place to slap the hands of bad lenders. The quesiton is if they need all the specific info they'll be compliing just to supply those reports. To put it in more relatable terms, this would be like your doctor recording how often you have sex and what your last stool sample looked like to update your info in a national immunization database. Also at CafeMom:
Is this partisan tantrum throwing, blowing it out of proportion, or is there a chance this info will be misused, leaked or otherwise put people's info out there in a way they didn't agree to when buying a house?
